How do I upload files?

How do you process my dictations?
When you sign-up for an account, you are assigned to a group of our well-trained medical transcriptionist. This grouping is based on your specialty and the estimated amount of dictation you might produce. Each file you upload to our servers are immediately transcribed by the assigned group and are checked by our editors to ensure accuracy.
How do I receive my transcriptions?
After transcribing your voice file, the corresponding transcription file are automatically uploaded to our servers and are now available to you via your Backbone Account. You can then "checkout" your transcription files by downloading them and saving them to your computer.
How can I know the status of my voice file?
The status of your voice file will depend on what page it appears on inside your Cranium Backbone account. If your files are still being transcribed, they will appear on the Pending Files page. If they are finished, they will appear on the New Files page. Files found on the Archive are files which you have already downloaded.
Can I be notified when my files are finished?
Yes! In the Settings page of the My Account section of your Cranium Backbone Account, there is a checkbox labeled Alert me by Email when I have new files. Check this option, save your settings and you will automatically receive an email everytime there is a new file waiting to be checked-out.
Will I be able to access my old files?
Yes! The Cranium Backbone System allows you to access and manage both your voice files and transcription files.
All your files are stored in our server for online access for 60 days. After that time, the files will be deleted from our servers. You will be able to access information about deleted files, but you will not be able to download them.
How will I be able to access files older than 60 days?
To access old files, you will need to send a File Request Ticket to our administrators. To do this, select the file from the Archive and click the Send File Request Ticket link. You will then receive an email containing instructions on how to download your requested file.
Can I upload dictations over the weekends?
Yes! Our dedicated transcriptions work seven days a week to ensure that your dictations are always transcribed.
Is there a difference between weekday and weekend turnaround time?
No, there is no difference. We guarantee you less than 24-hours turnaround time no matter what day of the week you uploaded your transcription.
